We use four different colors to represent the mural art of Mogao Grottoes: "rock layer", "grass mud layer", "fine mud layer", "white powder layer". During the burning of the candle, the murals of Mogao caves will appear ; however, it will disappear after the candle burns the "white powder layer", the rest of candle can keep to lighting.

It takes about 3 hours from starting to light the candle to seeing the mural pattern. After this, you can see the faint pattern for about 2 hours until the clear mural pattern. Then completely disappeared. All candles are handmade, so these time data are reference only.
