Imagination is once again proven in his imagery to be an indispensable source of creative energy in painting. We can see ukiyo-e and miniature painting resonating fully within his works. We can see the glittering vanities of the human world reinterpreted as new tales of the strange amid the shimmering waters of mountain spirit legends. His paintings demand to be viewed with care; I see them as a new "Picture of Displaced People" concerning reality and nostalgia.
